Air Cylinders
A pneumatic (air) cylinder converts air pressure to in-out linear motion. Pneumatic cylinders convert the energy of air under pressure to straight line motion and force.
When selecting a pneumatic cylinder, you must consider:
* how far the piston extends when activated, known as "stroke"
* surface area of the piston face, known as "bore size"
* action type, such as "single acting, double acting"
* pressure rating, such as "90 PSI"
* type of connection to each port, such as "1/2" NPT"
* must be rated for compressed air use
* mounting method
