Multiple Systems, Inc. | Rumor - Job Posting / Job Offers

Rumor

Multiple Systems, Inc. has learned of emails in circulation that falsely offer jobs to individuals which may include:

- emails that offer "an online work from home job position";

- emails that request "an online interview" via Instant Messenger;

- emails with attachment(s): Interview Questionnaire, Employment Agreement Letter, Job Details.

In some cases, the perpetrators have contacted the victims and falsely claimed to hire them, provide them "training" and equipment, in order to obtain additional personal and financial information and in some cases have sent them fraudulent cashier's checks.

Our Response

Multiple Systems, Inc. is in no way associated with this activity. The job positions listed in these emails are not real. This appears to be a form of fraud known as "phishing", wherein perpetrators attempt to develop relationships with victims in order to obtain personal and financial information. Common signs that a message may be part of an email scam or phishing campaign include:

- spelling and grammatical errors in the email;

- sender's use of free, non-corporate email accounts (such as Yahoo!, AOL and Hotmail);

- requests for personal information and the promise of quick financial gain.

Never forget, "If it seems to good to be true, it probably is."
